We are looking for a Global Senior Manager M&A Div Technology to do manage the M&A Tech's deal and project portfolio to ensure or manage delivery. You will ideally come from a deal & project and portfolio management within a technology pharmaceutical environment background.
The M&A Tech Sr. Global Manager is essential in strategically planning, managing and executing strategic IT initiatives within our company.
With a strong emphasis on demand and portfolio management, this position is essential to managing and maximizing the M&A Tech's deal and project portfolio in order to maximize resource efficiency and align with overarching business objectives. In order to guarantee strategic alignment and the best possible distribution of resources throughout the various phases of a deal, this person works with deal and project managers and serves as a strategic partner to the Strategic Business Stakeholders in charge of the Sandoz deal portfolio as well as the Technology departments supporting deals. In order to guarantee successful outcomes, the role entails crucial monitoring of the deal progress from pre-DD until full integration or divestment, resource availability, and stakeholder engagement. Your efforts will focus on various aspects of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), such as integrations, divestitures, and strategic projects from start to finish while upholding the necessary confidentiality. reporting directly to the M&A Tech Lead while being a member of the M&A Tech team.

Key Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Associated Tasks:

The Strategic Business Partner for sophisticated business process/site/sub-function drives and ensures that M&AD and BD/L business demand is captured and collaborates with other Technology functions to ensure quality services are delivered to stakeholders as per agreed service descriptions

Demand Management: forecasting and management of demands from different stakeholder groups in Sandoz. Demand inclusion and prioritization within the M&A Tech deal portfolio. Timely initiation and monitoring of related initiatives, depending on the deal stage (e.g. due diligence, planning and execution integration / separation projects).

Alignment of the portfolio to organizational strategic needs: ensuring alignment of all deals & projects in the portfolio with the strategic business goals and objectives, as well as integration in the overall business plan; contribution to the overall success of the organization; collaboration with leadership and executive team. Regular alignment sessions with deal & project managers to review deal & project goals and strategic fit. Guarantee excellence in managing and prioritizing demands across multiple high-impact deals and projects, ensuring scalable and consistent solutions.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintaining open and effective communication with SDZ Business & Tech deal owners, project sponsors and other key stakeholders. Develop a stakeholder communication plan that outlines frequency, methods, and content. Establish regular communication channels with stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback. Ensure stakeholder expectations are managed through clear and transparent communication. Facilitate stakeholder meetings to align overall portfolio, deal & project progress and resolve any issues. Create monthly newsletters and status reports for stakeholders. Organize quarterly stakeholder review meetings to present updates and gather input.
Performance Monitoring & Risk (escalation) Management: Regularly analyze deal & project data to assess delivery progress, identify risks & mitigation plans with milestones and deliverables. Governs cross-deal risk and escalation management. Manages escalation resolution. Regular calibration of performance metrics to ensure they are providing the necessary insights. Monitor deal performance, risk & escalation mitigation progress & feedbacks to leadership, deal & project teams.

Resource Forecasting & Allocation Planning: monitoring portfolio resource needs and optimization of allocated resources across different deals & projects to maximize execution efficiency. Resolution of resource availability and constraints, adjusting allocations as necessary to meet deal & project demands. Development and implementation of resource forecasting, availability and allocation tools & techniques to predict future needs and manage shortages. Monthly resource utilization reviews and forecast reports.

Continuous Improvement: lead efforts to refine deal, project and portfolio management as well as due diligence - related processes, fostering innovation and operational excellence. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation and process experimentation. Implement lessons learned repository. Evaluate the effectiveness of process changes and make adjustments as necessary. Organize workshops to train staff on new processes and tools.

Compliance and Security: Ensure adherence to Security and Compliance policies within M&A Tech governance, covering Due Diligence and project scopes.

Due Diligence / Deal Leadership and Management: Governs Due diligence life-cycle across tech portfolio and ensures Tech due diligence runs according to Sandoz standards in quality, time and budget with clear identification of tech delivery, dependencies/risks, duration & budget needs. Ac as Tech Deal lead / Project Manager for execution of pre-due diligence / due diligence and projects, in case of need.

Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership across tech deal/project teams, fostering innovative problem-solving and delivering high-quality results that align with business objectives and consistent implementation approaches.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Strategic Business Partnering: Stakeholder satisfaction score with delivered services; Percentage of business demands met on time and escalation managed without impact on deals
  • Demand Management: Demand Prioritization and timely initiation of deal / project execution
  • Strategic Deal & project Alignment: Percentage of deal & projects that meet strategic alignment criteria considering interdependencies across SDZ portfolio
  • Resource Management: Resource utilization rate across deal & projects
  • Delivery Excellence & Performance Monitoring: Number of deal & projects on schedule and within expected quality & budget (defined by meeting dealt goals and stakeholder satisfaction).
  • Continuous Improvement: Number of process improvements implemented per year, resulting positive impact
  • Compliance and Security: Compliance to Sandoz internal standards and audit pass rate; Number of security incidents within M&A Tech projects.
  • Other KPIs may apply, as per the M&A Tech Operating model

Education / Language / Experience

Education:

    Master’s Degree in Tech area, Business Administration, or M&A-related field

    Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMI PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or similar - are highly desirable.

    Knowledge of business process analysis e.g. SCM, SD & design, IT Architecture of key applications like SAP, MES, CRM etc,
 

Languages:

    Fluent English required (oral and written)
 

Experience:

    + 10 years of experience in due diligence & project and portfolio management within a technology environment.

    Experience in pharma industry with sound knowledge of GxP /SOX practices and IT control standards

    Experience in strategic planning and execution, showing the ability to align deal & project objectives with business goals and making strategic decisions that influence the direction of the organization.

    Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience in managing and motivating teams, as well as engaging with senior stakeholders and executives.

    Experience with deal & project portfolio management software and tools such as Microsoft Deal & project, Jira, or similar.

    Background in continuous process improvement, with knowledge of methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.

    Knowledge and experience in country IT operations, Software lifecycle management

    Ability to cope with complexities, ambiguities and matrix organizations and drive strong consensus managing demand to optimize business performance

    Willingness to travel (10-30 %)
