- Market Landscaping: Drive market understanding related to Clean Label and Sustainability in collaboration with IFF sustainability team
- Build the innovation roadmap: Develop and drive the strategic plan for growth and differentiation in the Re-Imagine Simple™ program. Scope Market developments and future opportunities related to Clean label and Sustainability. Define market size, competitive landscape and strategic fit of Clean Label Flavors and Taste Solutions for Sustainability. Scope and collect customer unmet needs/pain points, success criteria and potential value proposition of future Technologies, linked to the selected innovation area. Prioritize focus areas in collaboration with the RE-IMAGINE SIMPLE™ Innovation team. Share above with relevant stakeholders, drive initiatives with internal and external partners.
- Innovation Deployment and Delivery: Provide relevant market data, develop and maintain business cases (incl. Net Product Value) Define unique value propositions based on client and consumer benefits for new and existing technologies, in collaboration with the RE-IMAGINE SIMLPLE™ Innovation team. Define the global marketing strategy for new Innovations, and drive market execution during Delivery phase via Regional and Global Category Leads.
- Positioning IFF in Clean Label & Sustainability: In collaboration with Global Communications team and Regional stakeholders, define global comms calendar, content for positioning and key messaging around Clean Label and Commodity Enhancement for Sustainability. Support regional execution and engage with key customers on capabilities and innovations as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities – Market Landscaping and Opportunity Identification

  • Lead and execute activities in the following areas for the selected innovation area:

  • Define the required need for market research and prioritize, Scope market development and trends related to “clean label” and “sustainability”, and communicate findings to all stakeholders

  • Define IFF positioning within “clean label” and “sustainability” market

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities – Innovation Process

  • In collaboration with the RE-IMAGINE SIMPLE™ Innovation team, Global Category Leaders and Marketers, Regional Category Leads, and GKA Managers, lead and execute analysis in the following areas for a selected innovation area:

  • Identify target sub-categories and markets, define IFF market opportunity

  • Competitive landscape, incl R&D technologies

  • Current IFF business, customers and margins

  • Identify customer needs via interviews with Commercial Managers and Customers (esp. GKAs) – on an ad-hoc basis work, eg with external agencies

  • Identify gaps and areas of opportunity for innovation (in collaboration with the RE-IMAGINE SIMLPLE™ Innovation team)

  • Develop high level value propositions

  • Develop 5-year business case per value proposition

  • Develop business cases and NPV studies for projects in Design phase and for upcoming Deploys, including quantifying market potentials and financial targets in collaboration with IC&D, regional teams and GKAs. Present to Innovation Steering Committee where relevant.

  • With the help of strong Market and Consumer data, develop and refine Value Propositions along the Design phase of the project, identify target sub-categories and customers.

Key Responsibilities – Support Innovation Deployment and Delivery

  • Support building the Technical Deploy launch materials. Define the unique value proposition of new and technologies, translating them into customer benefits based on IC&D evaluation

  • During Delivery phase, refine value proposition in collaboration with global category marketers. Build global internal and client facing communication and develop supportive customer material to provide to regional category marketing. Drive inclusion of new technologies into global and regional growth initiatives for the following year.

Key Responsibilities – Positioning IFF in Clean Label & Sustainability

  • Support key customer strategic initiatives within Clean Label flavors and taste solutions for sustainability to develop new business and accelerate sales growth. Engage with key global and regional customers through visits and presentations about these topics.

  • Ensure “Mind Share” of existing technologies relevant to the program. Build global internal and client facing communication and develop supportive customer material to provide to regional category marketing. Drive inclusion of existing innovation technologies into global and regional growth initiatives for the following year.

  • In collaboration with global communications team, develop and maintain visibility as a subject-matter expert and thought leader internally and externally to position IFF’s brands, portfolio and capabilities via events, publications, digital & social within clean label and commodity replacement for sustainability.

KPIs

  • Pipeline and Revenue of recent Deploys

  • New technologies deployed on time and fully embedded in the Regions

  • New innovation areas scoped and kicked off

  • External comms activities rolled out

  • Customer-facing activities, promoting current capabilities and/or new technologies

Key Stakeholders

  • RE-IMAGINE SIMPLE™ IC&D Team, Global Category Marketing, Regional Category Marketing and CXM, GKA, Commercial and Operations, PX, CI, Business Intel, Purchasing

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelors/ Masters degree in Science or Food Science/ Food Technology (preferred) and/or Bachelor’s/ Masters degree in Marketing, Business, or Economics (MBA preferred)

  • At least 10 years of experience in B2B or B2C, preferably in Food related industry. Food ingredients and flavor experience preferred.

  • Strong understanding of marketing strategies and execution, strong capabilities in relationship building, networking and management.

  • Experience in Innovation project initiation, Success Criteria definition and Value proposition development preferred.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • A customer-centric mindset, strong leadership skills with the ability to lead through persuasion and influence.

  • Experience in international roles and/or multicultural environments preferred.
