The team
The Desktop Engineering Team is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's desktop infrastructure. This includes deploying operating systems, managing software distribution, ensuring security compliance, and providing technical support to optimize user experience. The team works closely with IT and security departments to implement robust solutions that enhance productivity while safeguarding the network. By leveraging automation tools and staying up to date with emerging technologies, the Desktop Engineering Team ensures the seamless operation of desktop environments, meeting the organization’s evolving technical needs and delivering a stable, secure computing environment for end users.
The role
The Desktop Engineer plays a critical role in managing and supporting the organization's Windows desktop infrastructure. Primarily using Microsoft Intune, the engineer is responsible for the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Windows operating systems, software, and hardware across all desktop environments. Key duties include troubleshooting Windows-specific technical issues, ensuring security patches and updates are applied, and optimizing system performance to enhance user experience. They collaborate with IT and security teams to implement solutions that align with business needs while adhering to security protocols. The role involves managing user access, installing software, and automating tasks using Intune and other tools to streamline processes. Strong problem-solving skills, multitasking, and excellent communication are essential for assisting end users with various technical challenges, ensuring that the organization's Windows desktop systems are stable, secure, and efficient.
What you’ll bring
-Strong expertise in Windows OS deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
-Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune for device management and automation.
-Proficiency in managing security updates, patching, and software distribution.
-Knowledge of Active Directory, and networking protocols.
-Ability to automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell.
-Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT and security.
-Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
