Apryse, a leading global software company, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting operations for our EMEA/APAC region. Based in Belgium, this key leadership role will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will be critical in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with local GAAP standards as well as a working knowledge of US GAAP. Responsibilities:
Regional Accounting Oversight: Supervise and manage all accounting operations for the EMEA/APAC region, with a working knowledge of US GAAP and an expert in local GAAP standards.
Monthly Accounting Close: Lead the monthly accounting close process for the EMEA/APAC region, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all closing activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation. Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and a strong focus on meeting deadlines.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the EMEA/APAC region, ensuring accuracy, adherence to reporting deadlines, and compliance with local GAAP standards.
Taxes: Knowledge of local income taxes, as well as VAT and WHT taxes.
Process Improvement: Lead global process improvement initiatives in collaboration with Global Controller and finance teams. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in accounting operations.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and career development.
Collaboration with Corporate Controller: Work closely with the Corporate Controller and other finance teams to align regional accounting practices with global standards and corporate objectives.
Internal Controls: Ensure strong internal controls are in place and maintained to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Audit Support: Manage and support internal and external audits for the EMEA/APAC region, ensuring timely and accurate provision of required documentation.
Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by the Corporate Controller to support the overall objectives of the accounting department and the company.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role within a multinational company.
Technical Skills: Working knowledge of US GAAP and expert knowledge in local GAAP standards. Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills required. Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite and CRM systems like Salesforce is highly desirable.
Leadership: Proven experience in leading and developing a team, with a focus on fostering career growth and professional development.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of other European languages is an advantage.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy, attention to detail, and meeting tight deadlines.
Software/Technology: Experience in the software industry is a plus.
