Job Summary:
Repsol Renewables North America is seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Associate to join our dynamic team and support the Company’s growing utility-scale wind, solar and energy storage projects across the U.S. This individual will work closely with project development, engineering and construction teams to support GIS inputs and support on a wide range of projects. This individual will report to the Lead GIS team member.
The position is based in Downtown Houston with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update internal GIS datasets and geodatabase schemas to ensure accuracy and alignment with project needs
- Create and maintain GIS content within the ArcGIS Enterprise platform, including web maps, apps, dashboards, and feature services.
- Providing cartographic and data visualization support for development, permitting, and project design teams
- Perform GIS-based analysis to support renewable energy development and project evaluation
- Conduct quality assurance and troubleshoot geospatial data issues
- Collaborate with project leads and subject matter experts to translate technical GIS insights in a clear, actionable format
- Support the Lead GIS team member in identifying, improving, and streamlining GIS workflows, tools, and team processes
Requirements
- Proficient in ArcGIS Pro (version 12.0 or later), with experience in creating, editing, and managing data within enterprise or project-based environments
- Hands-on experience or familiarity with ArcGIS Online (AGOL) or ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, including Web AppBuilder, Experience Builder, and/or Dashboards
- Familiar with geodatabase schema design and data organization
- Solid cartographic skills with attention to detail in delivering accurate and visually effective maps
- Keen, demonstrated interest in renewable energy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn, understand and communicate technical issues effectively
- Proven self-starter with the ability to quickly learn new workflows, improve existing processes, and maintain high data accuracy
- Experience automating GIS workflows using Python, Arcade, SQL, and/or ModelBuilder, a plus
Education/Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Geography, GIS, Spatial Sciences, or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience working with GIS or geospatial technologies
