General Description:
The Canadian General Manager (GM) is responsible for leading BeiGene’s Canadian affiliate. The leader will recruit and develop an effective cross-functional team, working together with BeiGene global leadership to define and deliver performance against regional goals in full alignment with broader global strategies, internal policies, and local laws and regulations. The Canadian GM will serve as the lead for representing BeiGene with external stakeholders across Canada.
As a member of the North America Leadership Team (NALT), the General Manager contributes to the global commercialization strategies and leads the performance management of in country roles within the corporate function matrix.

- Adjusts quickly to changes in market, economic and policy conditions to ensure BeiGene’s business sustainability in Canada.

Deliver Results
- Leads in-country operations and delivers performance against country metrics and targets.
- In partnership with Global Leadership, obtains and manages the pricing and reimbursement clearance from relevant local authorities for BeiGene’s products.
- Serves as the lead “face of BeiGene” in all Canadian Government Affairs activity and is accountable for all local pricing and reimbursement processes.
- Conducts regular business performance reviews and motivates cross-functional team in support of executing local strategies and plans.
- Ensures sufficient supply for patients is maintained and full compliance with the BeiGene code of ethics is met.
- Is responsible for the maintenance of all necessary regulatory licenses for compliant business practices across Canada.

Qualifications & Education
- A recognized and experienced General Manager, Country or Franchise Business Head in biopharmaceuticals, ideally in malignant hematology and solid tumors.
- A demonstrated track record of success and progression in senior sales, marketing and /or Market Access, roles in Canada, as well as Global roles at the headquarters of a multi-national company or mid-cap biotech..
- Strong knowledge of business and financial planning with experience delivering consistent P/L results.
- Broad cultural orientation, with experience of working outside local market or in an international context.
- Recent track record of successfully overseeing product launches and indication expansion across Canada, ideally for malignant hematology and solid tumors. Has successfully worked in a competitive environment.
- Success in market shaping activities to establish the unmet need in an oncology or rare disease area.
- Broad understanding of the policy environment in Canada for access and execution of related reimbursement strategies.
- An authentic commitment to working closely with external stakeholders, including the patient community.
- Hands on experience with building, expanding, and restructuring affiliate operations as local business grows.
- Successful track record in building, developing and leading high performing cross functional teams.
- Successful track record in working and delivering across a matrixed global environment.
- Seasoned leader comfortable communicating and engaging across all levels in the organization – maintains a calm composure and is accustomed to presenting and influencing at senior levels.
