The General Accountant works with global accounting and operations applying principals of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. This position requires advanced Excel skills, attention to detail and good communication skills.
This role follows a hybrid model, combining in-office and remote work. We offer flexibility in scheduling to accommodate individual needs while maintaining team collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process invoices and check requests; ensure timely submission to Corporate AP.
- Process royalty calculations and submit to Corporate AP for payment.
- Process rebate calculations and submit to Corporate AP for payment.
- Review and track intercompany expenses for payment to corporate as well as accrual entry at month end.
- Work with Ops and Corporate AP on investigation and problem resolution related to payment requests from vendors.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and associated journal entries for genomics bank accounts.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, as assigned.
- Review and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and prepare audit workpapers.
- Work with and provide information to internal and external auditors.
- Assist in month end close process, including preparation of variance file and expense reclassification; work with operations team to investigate expense variances from budget and correct.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process.
- Support other areas within finance, as needed.
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or pursing with work related experience.
