What you will do:

The Functional Safety and Cybersecurity Manager will ensure the safety and security of our automotive systems and components in our platform development for low voltage energy and conversion systems, as basis for the use of this platform in application projects. They will be responsible for driving the purposeful execution of all engineering activities related to functional safety and cybersecurity in a cross-functional team.

How you will do it:

  • Matrix-lead the development and implementation of functional safety and cybersecurity concepts in the platform development team.

  • Focusing on functional safety (FuSa), safety of the intended functionality (SOTIF) and cybersecurity (CS) management with a team of team of safety and cybersecurity system, HW, SW, and electrochemistry experts.

  • Ensuring compliance with automotive FuSa, SOTIF and CS (ISO 26262, ISO 21448, UN ECE R155, ISO 21434) in the platform development to allow seamless handover to OEM application projects.

  • Planning and conducting the creation pf work products required for the safety case and cybersecurity case (e.g., Item Definition, Safety Plan, HARA, FMEA, FTA, TARA, Cybersecurity Plan, Item Definition).

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and quality assurance, to integrate safety and cybersecurity requirements into product designs.

  • Driving the development and roll out of safety and cybersecurity processes as process owner.

  • Participating in safety/cybersecurity audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance with standards.

What we look for:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in functional safety engineering within the automotive industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 26262 standards and their application in automotive product development.

  • Proven experience in conducting safety analyses and developing safety documentation.

  • Strong project management skills and experience with cross-disciplinary functional leadership (without formal authority).

Preferred:

  • Certification in functional safety and/or cybersecurity (e.g., UL/TÜV Functional Safety Professional) is a plus.

  • Several years of experience in automotive cybersecurity engineering and knowledge of respective standards highly preferred; basic knowledge with willingness to close gaps required for the role required.
