Role Overview
We are seeking an SAP TM Functional Engineer responsible for the analysis, configuration, and implementation of transportation solutions in SAP S/4HANA landscape. The role focuses on improving the logistics, planning, and execution of transportation operations to streamline supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Design:
- Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders.
- Design solutions within a SAP ECC/S4 landscape with a focus on addressing transportation and logistics needs using LE-TRANS, TM and S/4 Basic Shipping.
- Configuration & Implementation:
- Own the delivery of the solution components by performing the configuration in SAP and collaborating with Developers (ABAP, Integration) where required.
- Integrate SAP TM with other SAP modules like Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).
- Process Optimization:
- Streamline transportation operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Leverage embedded analytics to provide insights into transportation KPIs.
- Testing & Deployment:
- Develop test cases and perform all system testing.
- Support QA Automation engineers to fulfill our goal of 80% Test Automation in our critical applications landscape. Experience with Tricentis is an asset.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure smooth system deployment.
- Integration & Interfaces:
- Work with EDI/IDOC interfaces to communicate with external carriers and third-party systems.
- Ensure smooth integration of SAP LE-TRANS with non-SAP systems.
- Support & Maintenance:
- Provide ongoing support and training to end users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to transportation processes.
Required Skills
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA Transportation Management architecture.
- Hands-on experience with SAP TM configuration and implementation.
- Domain Knowledge:
- Deep knowledge of supply chain management and transportation processes, including inbound, outbound, and inter-company transportation.
- Integration Skills:
- Familiarity with SAP TM integration with MM, SD, EWM, and Finance modules.
- Experience with middleware tools and interface technologies (e.g., SAP PI/PO, APIs).
- Experience integrating SAP ECC/S4 with industry leading TMS Solutions (e.g. Blue Yonder, e2Open/Blujay)
- Experience integrating with RTTVP platforms (e.g. Project44, FourKites)
- Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze complex logistics scenarios and propose optimized solutions.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Effective project management and documentation capabilities.
- Value-oriented and passionate about creating outcomes for our business.
Desirable Certifications
- SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP S/4HANA Transportation Management.
- SAP Certified Application Specialist - SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain.
