The Role

Straight to the point: we are looking for a contractor, maybe you're a data engineer, at least an expert in Elasticsearch who shares the same values of pragmatism, professionalism, and transparency that we do.

You would work on one of our client projects, a global leader in the field of corporate social responsibility and nonprofits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting up an Elasticsearch architecture and indexing data
• Collaborate closely with C-level executives and cross-functional teams and clients to build high-quality, maintainable software.
• Engage in pair programming and code reviews to promote best practices and knowledge sharing.
• Apply Extreme Programming (XP) methodologies, including Test-Driven Development (TDD), to deliver value in small increments.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Mentor and coach other developers, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• A high level of English and Spanish (spoken and written)
• 8+ years of experience with Java and its build system
• Proven experience with setting up Elasticsearch arhcitectures, indexing data and other advanced activities
• Experience working as a freelancer or consultant
• Comfortable with OOP (Object Oriented Programming)
• Familiarity with a cloud solution (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Familiarity with concepts of multi-layer application designs
• A quality-oriented mindset: follow best practices (Testing (ideally TDD), pair programming, continuous integration/deployment, Agile methodologies) and SOLID principles
