The Freelance News Contributor is completely immersed in fashion, sneakers, and visual culture, and committed to producing forward-thinking content in real-time. They aim to craft a variety of engaging, conversational, and on-brand fashion news for Highsnobiety’s website, playing a key role in shaping Highsnobiety’s tone of voice.This role demands speed, attention to detail, and a solid grasp of the state of youth culture in 2025.
The Freelance News Contributor role is a weekend position, requiring work on Saturday and Sunday. The pay is $200 per day, up to 5 days per week.
YOUR MISSION:
- Source and write 300+-word engaging, informative, and relevant news stories, conceptualized with angles that are unique to Highsnobiety and delivered in a timely manner.
- Ensure copy is aligned with Highsnobiety’s tone of voice, house style, brand values, standards, and quality.
- Stay up to date with news and trends in fashion, digital and social media, and demonstrate flexibility in covering relevant topics.
YOUR SKILLS:
- Minimum 1 year of working for a digital publication (previous newsroom experience preferable but not a must).
- A strong record pitching, researching, and writing compelling and accurate copy.
- A rich knowledge of the fashion industry and youth culture at large, as well as a feel for the latest in pop culture.
- A solid understanding of SEO & social media.
- A deep understanding of the Highsnobiety brand.
- Excellent organizational skills and a cool head under pressure.
