We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Fraud Investigator to join our Fraud Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for investigating and preventing online and offline fraud, while ensuring the highest level of accuracy and efficiency in your work. You will use your analytical skills, knowledge of fraud patterns, and specialized tools to distinguish legitimate transactions from fraudulent ones and provide valuable insights that will help reduce risk across the organization. You will also collaborate with various teams, including Customer & Restaurant Care, Legal, and Fraud Strategy, to create and implement effective fraud prevention strategies.

The Impact You Will Make:

  • Monitor and investigate potentially fraudulent transactions, using acute judgment and fraud detection tools to differentiate between fraud and legitimate orders.
  • Ensure that tasks are reviewed promptly and accurately to meet departmental objectives and maintain a seamless customer experience.
  • Handle escalations from internal stakeholders (Customer & Restaurant Care, Account Advisors, Legal) by researching and resolving fraud-related issues in compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish and achieve specific loss prevention and operational efficiency goals.
  • Collect and analyze risk data to assist the Fraud Strategy team in developing and enhancing transaction screening strategies.
  • Maintain professional, clear, and thorough written and verbal communication, suitable for internal teams, customers, restaurants, and law enforcement.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of all information collected during investigations.
  • Use guidelines to assess which accounts and data points pose a risk to the business and which are trustworthy.
  • Identify new and emerging fraud trends through data analysis.
  • Perform manual audits on selected transactions, providing feedback to the Fraud Strategy team.
  • Conduct deep-dive investigations into fraud rings and emerging risky behaviors and present findings to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Provide secondary reviews of decisions made by Fraud Care partners and audit performance accuracy.


What You Bring To The Table

  • 6+ months of experience in fraud prevention, preferably in an online environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer support or operations role
  • Familiarity with various types of payments (credit cards, gift cards, bank transfers, digital wallets) and fraud patterns (credit card theft, account takeover, promotion abuse, scams, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to identify patterns and emerging trends.
  • High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Basic proficiency in Google Workspace / Microsoft Office programs (advanced spreadsheet skills preferred).
  • Bonus: Experience with SQL or other data/programming skills.

  • Experience with fraud tools such as Accertify Interceptas, Forter, Incognia, or similar fraud detection tools is a plus.
  • A self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships across the organization.
