The Role
We are looking for a highly analytical and strategic FP&A Manager to support the company’s CFO with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial and operational performance analysis. This highly visible and strategic role will be exposed to all finance-related aspects of the business as we continue to build out the FP&A function and will be crucial in providing insights that shape decision-making and improve financial performance as we continue to grow. This role reports to the CFO and is a hybrid role based in our Ridgewood, NJ headquarters.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the annual budget, forecast, and pluriannual financial planning processes
- Develop, manage, and maintain financial models, long-term forecasts, and scenario analysis
- Support the monthly reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation, while providing explanations for variances vs budget and vs previous year
- Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation, and streamlining of operations
- Partner with department heads to track financial performance vs budget
- Implement, optimize, and automate FP&A tools, dashboards, and reporting to improve financial visibility
- Prepare presentations for Board meetings and the Executive Leadership Team
- Support the CFO with ad hoc requests and analysis
- Additional duties as required
The Ideal Candidate
- 5 + years of experience in FP&A, Finance or Accounting areas, preferably at a renewable energy company
- Significant analytical skillset, including utilizing Power BI and reporting tools with extensive knowledge in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, modeling, etc.). Experience in NetSuite is a plus
- Possess a high level of commercial acumen, able to think and act strategically but also be a hands-on problem solver with exceptional analytical skills
- Experienced in managing project-based revenue, budgets, and projections
- High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability; keen to take ownership
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with senior stakeholders across the business in a cross-functional team environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, managing time effectively to meet objectives
- Experienced in presenting extensive data and reporting to Executive teams
- Energy industry experience or experience with power purchase agreements and energy service agreement financial structures is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related area is required; MBA is highly preferred
