The Impact of a Director FP&A at Coupa:

Coupa Software is seeking a seasoned and strategic Director, FP&A, to lead financial planning and analysis for our Value Services organization within a SaaS business model. This key leadership role will focus on driving operational excellence, supporting business decision-making, and ensuring alignment with our company's financial and strategic objectives. The Director will act as a trusted partner to senior executives and operational leaders, providing insights and guidance to optimize performance across the Value Services domain.

What You'll Do:

• Strategic Leadership:
• Serve as the primary financial partner to the Value Services organization, encompassing customer success, implementation, training, and related services teams
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute strategies that enhance service profitability, customer satisfaction, and overall organizational effectiveness
• Provide thought leadership on key SaaS metrics and financial drivers, including billable utilization, margin analysis, and customer lifetime value (LTV)
• Financial Planning & Analysis:
• Lead the financial planning process for the Value Services organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
• Analyze and present financial results, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to senior management and stakeholders
• Develop dynamic financial models to support scenario planning, resource allocation, and strategic initiatives
• Operational Excellence:
• Partner with the Value Services leadership team to drive process improvements and operational efficiency, leveraging best practices in SaaS Value Services
• Establish and monitor KPIs and dashboards to track performance against key business objectives, such as project delivery timelines, revenue realization, and customer retention
• Oversee revenue recognition processes for Value Services, ensuring compliance with SaaS accounting standards and company policies
• Business Performance Optimization:
• Identify and implement strategies to optimize profitability within the Value Services organization, including cost management, pricing strategies, and contract efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute initiatives that drive customer value and operational scalability
• Provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on growth opportunities within the Value Services portfolio
• Stakeholder Engagement:
• Present financial insights and strategic recommendations to the executive team and other stakeholders
• Act as a liaison between the FP&A team and operational leaders, ensuring alignment of financial goals and business priorities

What You'll Bring to Coupa:

• 10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with significant experience in Value Services within a SaaS or technology-driven business
• Proven track record of driving business performance and delivering financial insights at a senior leadership level
• Deep understanding of SaaS business models and metrics, including ARR, churn, utilization, and customer acquisition costs
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and performance analysis
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and building consensus across diverse teams and leadership levels
• Proficiency with financial planning tools such as Anaplan and advanced Excel skills
• Professional qualifications in finance, accounting, or related fields (e.g., MBA, CFA, CPA) are highly desirable
• Strategic Vision: Ability to align financial strategies with long-term organizational goals and market trends
• Business Acumen: In-depth knowledge of Value Services operations, including cost structures, pricing, and service delivery models
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority
• Collaboration: Strong ability to build partnerships and work effectively across organizational boundaries
• Innovation: Proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing creative solutions
• Results-oriented with a focus on driving measurable business outcomes
