FP&A Analyst

The FP&A Analyst will be responsible for driving visibility and valuable analysis throughout the business. This is a unique opportunity for a data-driven and business-minded analyst to come in and understand our growing business, partner with various departments and help drive data driven and informed decisions. They will work directly with the leader of the FP&A function that takes an analytical view of the business and identifies and drives operational and financial performance throughout the organization. The FP&A Analyst is curious, self-motivated, detail oriented, strategic-thinking, and has strong organization and communication skills.

Location(s): North Carolina Research Triangle or East Coast (preferred)

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support presentations to the company’s management and board of directors
  • Work directly with the Finance and Accounting team to assess results and compare to targets as well as taking a proactive role in driving understanding of the current actual results and incorporating them into the forecasting process
  • Build analytical models that utilize both financial and non-financial data (KPIs) to forecast operating results
  • Participate in Company, product, and project profitability analysis
  • Help identify trends and anticipate needs to support an evolving business environment
  • Participate in cross-functional business projects and analysis
  • Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements
  • Support strategic initiatives including M&A due diligence, benchmarking, and competitive and market analysis

Qualifications:

  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or Economics
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting and forecasting or other analytical discipline such as consulting or investment banking. Experience in the software industry is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are required
  • Process oriented thinker with great organizational skills that wants to get involved in the business and the ecosystem that CData is leading
  • Strong desire to be part of a growing business and be integral in the development of the team and the culture at CData
  • Strong analytical capabilities, able to develop new frameworks, and model potential outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines with emphasis on sustained accuracy and attention to detail
  • Articulate clearly and succinctly through excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Capable of presenting complex financial information in an easy-to-understand format
  • Previous experience with US GAAP is a plus
  • Financial modeling experience is a plus
  • Ability to work with and learn new financial systems and other business systems. Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, or Tableau a plus
