Who We Are:

Intel Client Computing Group (CCG) is at the forefront of innovation, developing cutting-edge technology solutions for client SoC products. We are seeking a highly skilled SoC Power Management Firmware Architect/Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on power management firmware for current and future generation Client SoC products.

As a SoC Power Management Firmware Architect/Development Engineer, you will be part of Silicon Engineering team responsible for the firmware architecture and development that enables Intel Client SoC products. Your work will involve critical power, performance, and thermal management at both the SoC and platform levels. You will design, develop, and validate SoC firmware within constrained resources such as memory, interrupts, and processing power. This involves making key architectural decisions to optimize the software structure, hardware interfaces, frameworks, protocols, algorithms, and validation processes

Who You Are:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop firmware microarchitecture, design, and validation for power management in SoC products.

    • Make architectural decisions focusing on software structure, interfaces, frameworks, protocols, algorithms, and validation.

    • Define complex software structures, algorithms, and design patterns for interaction with hardware, operating systems, kernels, drivers, and other software.

    • Conduct technical analysis of IA SoC disaggregated architecture with a deep understanding of HW/SW interfaces and SoC power management flows at silicon and platform level to perform PnP optimization.

    • Engage in pre-silicon feature design and development, HW model and test environment development, and validation.

  • Drive estimation, planning with stakeholders, DevOps automation,.

  • Innovate through pathfinding activities and explore future technologies to influence the shaping of future Intel Client SoC design families.

  • Follow the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional, multi-geo teams.

Behavior skills we are looking for:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in computer architecture, especially power management architecture, with an understanding of Intel SoC architecture.

  • Advanced software development skills, including Clean Code principles and Test-Driven Development.

  • Experience in SoC pre-silicon and post-silicon validation.

  • Experience with Simics and test environment development.

  • Experience in SoC firmware IP TFMs (Tools, Flows, and Methodologies), DevOps, GitHub, and automation.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 3+ years of experience.

Relevant Experience should include the following:

  • Experience with Intel SoC architecture and design.

  • Experience in software/firmware/embedded development in C++ and Python.

  • Experience with software development lifecycle and methodologies.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:

$169,820.00-$239,750.00

Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. * Job posting details (such as work model, location or time type) are subject to change.
