The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled analyst with systems expertise to support the annual budget creation and mid-year re-forecast budgets for New Visions for Public Schools (NVPS) and our partner charter high schools (United Charter High Schools - UCHS).  This role will be responsible for managing all accounts receivables for both NVPS and UCHS.  This role involves collaborating with team members  to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our reports.

Essential Job Functions:

Budgeting and Reporting

  • Assist in developing annual organizational and program budgets for New Visions, and seven charter schools
  • Assist in mid-year reforecast for New Visions and charter schools, factoring in year-to-date expenses, programmatic and funding changes, and remaining priorities
  • Input and maintain budgets and cash flows in the MIP accounting software (annual and mid-year reforecast)
  • Update Charter YTD and Variance Reports
  • Maintain and update internal financial dashboards 
  • Assist in financial reports as needed
  • United Charter Schools quarterly support
  • Support with budget developments worksheets & maintenance
  • Identify & streamline processes, including opportunities for automation 
  • Ad Hoc reports as needed 

Grants Receivable /AR Management 

  • Generate invoices and manage billing processes accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor the NYC Department of Education payment portal for Purchase Orders and Scheduled Payments
  • Reconcile invoices and  cash payments to Accounts receivable with the Accounting team
  • Manage grants with NYCDOE, including support with Title grants for the Charter Schools

General financial support

  • Bank reconciliation for all accounts 
  • Support with year end entries
  • Prepare and submit all NYSED/SUNY quarterly reports
  • Maintenance of the charter & New Visions Websites 
  • Maintain organized documentation and files related to grants
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reports

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years working experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expert with spreadsheets and database skills such as google sheets, SAS, Abila MIP (preferred), including the ability to interpret financial information graphically
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups
  • Knowledge of Python programing (preferred) 
  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain large datasets
  • Ability to learn quickly, work in a fast paced environment and multi-task effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with others

Salary Information
While the majority of new hires’ starting salaries shall be expected to be placed in the first half of the range(s) to allow space to grow in the job, for those who already have significant relevant experience at that level of the job, placement at the higher end of the range(s) is possible.

Pay Range

$64,766$97,150 USD
