Job Summary:
The Financial Management Analyst (FMA) will provide critical financial management and analysis support for the Submarine Learning Center (SLC). This position focuses on managing the implementation and daily operation of the Navy ERP system, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting compliance. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, the FMA will streamline financial processes, integrate financial modules, and enhance data analytics capabilities to support informed decision-making.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- ERP Financial Management: Oversee the integration and daily operation of Navy ERP financial modules, including general ledger, payroll, labor projections, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Budget Execution and Preparation: Assist in budget preparation, execution, and monitoring to ensure alignment with financial objectives and Navy ERP system functionalities.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze financial data within the ERP system to generate real-time reports. Customize and export financial data for audit, review, and performance evaluations to support decision-making.
- Compliance and Audit Readiness: Ensure financial operations comply with Navy policies, audit controls, and financial reporting standards, including accrual basis accounting and budgetary requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in ERP workflows, particularly in payroll, procurement, and financial reporting, to enhance operational efficiency.
- Financial Support and Training: Provide training to personnel on financial best practices, ERP functionalities, and planning tools to strengthen financial management capabilities at SLC.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with supply chain and program management teams to ensure seamless integration of financial and supply chain modules, including purchasing, vendor management, and procurement workflows.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in financial management or accounting, preferably within the Navy or DoD environment, with demonstrated expertise in the Navy ERP platform.
- Proficient in Navy ERP T-codes related to financial operations, including budgeting, payroll, general ledger, and purchasing.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word) for financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and present it clearly to support decision-making.
- Must possess or be eligible for a Secret security clearance.
- Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) or similar certification.
- Familiarity with Navy financial policies, internal controls, and audit processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement within ERP systems.
