Job Description
Expeditors is seeking a Financial Compliance Professional to join the Financial Information System team. This role’s primary responsibility is to maintain and improve the Company’s IT automated controls (ITACs) and the related documentation to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). The Financial Compliance (Senior) Analyst serves as the SME and work closely with the Company’s business process and business application owners. This role will occasionally work with our company’s Internal Audit department as well as External Auditors.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of basic accounting, audit fundamentals, the COSO framework and Internal Controls over financial reporting, with an aptitude and desire to apply audit fundamentals and pursue greater audit knowledge. Additionally, this role will be filled by an excellent communicator with project management and analytic aptitude, with the ability to communicate critical audit matters to management.
Responsibilities:
- Is an excellent project manager who can work independently with cross functional teams.
- Assists with identifying and assessing risks around IT automated controls, including participation in annual walkthroughs.
- Support documenting, managing and maintaining IT automated control procedures and artifacts.
- Performs and support management’s baseline testing for automated functionalities and key reports.
- Support a performance of control operations in some areas.
- Has exceptional analytical skills to identify risks and design the process to address.
- Is able to identify root cause of controls gaps, deficiencies and inefficiencies.
- Can identify opportunities to improve internal control processes.
- Occasionally support Internal and External audits.
Reporting Structure: Reports to IT Application Controls Manager – Financial Information System
This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, or in a relevant field
- Understanding of and experience with the Sarbanes-Ockey (SOX) compliance requirements, the COSO framework and the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) management models
- Knowledge of the nature of financial auditing, enterprise IT environment and information system concept, and IT audit principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with technical process flow mapping as well as design and document IT application controls
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualification
- 2 + years’ experience in IT or Financial audits, through public accounting/auditing and/or industry experience
- Experience evaluating security and controls for on-premises and homegrown systems
- Certification preferred (CISA, CPA, CIA)
Additional Information
Expected base salary: $85,000-120,000 (May be eligible for bonus following first year of continuous employment in position)
