Position: Specialist in Accounting and Tax Compliance
As a Global Specialist in Accounting and Tax Compliance at Rocket Code, you will be responsible for maintaining accounting records and ensuring tax compliance for our entities under both US and Mexico regulations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy of financial records, the timely preparation of tax work papers, and strict adherence to tax regulations in both countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping and Accounting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for entities in Mexico and the United States, in compliance with local regulations.
- Tax Preparation and Reporting: Prepare and present tax work papers for both the US and Mexico, ensuring adherence to official deadlines and formats.
- Expertise in Tax Legislation: Demonstrate expertise in tax laws and regulations in both Mexico and the United States (e.g., VAT, Income Tax, IVA, ISR), ensuring optimal tax compliance.
- Accounting Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting platforms such as Contalink, QuickBooks, and Odoo for managing accounts and generating financial reports.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, delivering insights that support strategic decision-making.
- Compliance and Audits: Ensure the consistency and accuracy of all financial data to facilitate both internal and external audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for streamlining accounting processes and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Internal Advisory: Provide accounting and tax-related guidance to various departments and cross-functional projects within the organization.

- Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in accounting and tax compliance.
- Familiarity with the tax regulations of Mexico (SAT, IVA, ISR) and the United States (IRS, Income Tax, VAT).
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (Contalink, QuickBooks, Odoo).
- Expertise in preparing and presenting tax work papers.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and accounting platforms.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) in English and Spanish.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
