In the Financial Analyst role, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring the company's financial aspects. The goal is to ensure the efficient use of financial resources and the guarantee of financial integrity.

This is an onsite position in our Ann Arbor, MI offices.

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • Under general supervision of the Local Controller, performs various functions in the accounting cycle, from general ledger review to financial analysis.
  • Assist with monthly cost center review, adjustments, closing, reporting, and analytics. 
  • Participate in annual budget preparation, budget monitoring, and other financial reports required by group and local controlling.
  • Aid employees with capex applications, approvals, and budget tracking.
  • Assit employees with projects, creating project codes, tracking expenses and reporting.
  • Monthly review of Cost Center expenses.
  • Monthly reconciliation of goods receipts and invoice receipts.
  • Quarterly calculation/reconciliation for royalty payments.
  • Monthly/quarterly adjusting journal entry preparation (royalties, warranties, and accruals).
  • Ad hoc query reports/requests from Business Managers and/or Group/Local Controlling.
  • Assist with financial reports as required by law (i.e., Government Census reports for manufacturing and Research & Development).
  • Daily monitoring of capex inbox, assisting applicants in utilizing WeScale software for making capex requests and getting the requests completed and approved.
  • Monitor SAP inbox daily, managing costing requests.
  • Ability to travel (1-2 trips/year) with potential for international travel.
  • Other duties / special projects as needed.

What will convince us:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or a related degree.
  • 5+ years’ experience in an accounting/finance/reporting/analyst position.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with database and spreadsheet programs; experience in using financial/accounting and/or general ledger information systems. 
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
