About The Role:
The Financial Analyst will work directly with Spot’s Manager of Finance & Analysis and members of the Finance & Data Analytics team to support companywide and departmental needs in various areas of financial reporting and business analysis. This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience using Microsoft Excel, writing SQL queries, and creating detailed reports, scorecards, and dashboards. A strong understanding of key finance and accounting principles is essential. We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, entrepreneurial individual who can effectively multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain customized financial and operational reports across multiple business areas for department heads and executive management, with a focus on automation and process improvement.
- Customer Reporting: Create and maintain customer-specific monthly reports, scorecards, analyses, and sales presentation data for external stakeholders.
- Financial Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, identifying trends, variances, and anomalies.
- Pricing Analysis: Perform post-RFP bid performance and pricing analysis using internal tools and methodologies.
- Assist in querying data, creating pivot tables, charts, and organizing data & KPIs in a meaningful and insightful way for internal and external use.
- Support the Finance and Sales teams in preparing annual financial projections and budgets.
Projects:
- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses at the request of the CFO and senior management, including:
- Conducting detailed analyses using large data sets to support new business opportunities and internal stakeholder needs.
- Utilizing tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, Sigma, and others to create and automate financial and operational reports.
- Presenting findings and providing actionable recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, Computer Science/MIS, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA, with experience in SQL (SSMS).
- Experience with Power BI, Sigma (or other data visualization tools), analytics, scripting languages, databases, FP&A, or 3-statement modeling is a plus.
- Candidates with advanced experience may be considered for a senior-level position.
