Financial Analyst I
Summary Job Description
Compiles and analyzes financial information for the organization. Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. Records journal entries, performs variance analysis and account reconciliations. This position requires strong knowledge/understanding of Cash balance sheet reconciliations. This position Reports to Accounting Supervisor
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Evaluates trends, identifies and investigates unusual or unexpected account variances.
- Prepares management ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
- Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data
- Reconciles balance sheet cash accounts
- Identifies financial variances by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
- Ensures general ledger accounts are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Identifies opportunities for performance improvement across the organization.
- Promotes teamwork between operational groups and departments
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA a plus.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, or other related fields.
- Experience with balance sheet cash reconciliations
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to accuracy and detail required
- Excellent computer skills, especially with Excel
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- Strong work ethic
- Team player
