We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to fill the role of Senior Accountant. In this position, the successful candidate will drive insightful, accurate and timely analysis of the Company’s financials, as well as play a key role in developing budgets, forecasts and other financial models. This position will report to the Assistant Controller.

 Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the review and analysis of the Company’s balance sheet and P&L on a monthly/quarterly/yearly basis, ensuring all charges are recorded in the correct period, account and department
  • Prepare accrual entries and reconciliations, review other various reconciliations from team members to validate against financials
  • Monitor actual vs budget performance, investigate root causes of significant variances and provide updates to department heads
  • Assist in developing detailed annual budgets and rolling forecasts that align with the Company’s strategic objectives
  • Collaborate with the department heads to gather budget inputs and assumptions
  • Prepare various management reports with detailed commentary on key variances and trends
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Company reporting needs.
  • Assist in preparing materials for board meetings and investor communications
  • Perform other duties and assist in special projects as necessary

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, CPA or CPA track preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in accounting, FP&A, financial analysis or similar role
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to recognize variances, investigate and summarize articulate explanations for management review
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with proper procedures for month-end cutoff transactions & reconciliation of subledgers to General Ledger
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power point)
  • Knowledge of financial modeling preferred
  • Knowledge of NetSuite preferred

 Location: Shelton, CT - Must reside commutable distance to Shelton, CT/Hybrid work schedule-Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the office. Not a 100% remote position. 

Compensation

$85,000$95,000 USD

Compensation is based on factors including level of experience, skillset, qualifications, and location.
