Summary of Position:

This individual will be supporting CAE Commercial’s Aviation Financial Reporting community and will be a key contributor to the financial monthly forecast, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis, business performance tracking and special projects. S/he will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing executive presentations, financial presentations, revenue / cost analysis, and other projects requested by senior management. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making. The position reports to the Director of Finance, Commercial Aviation.
Position Responsibilities:
- Actively involved in the consolidation of Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly financial reporting activities of the Commercial Business including the preparation of presentations to Senior Management Team
- Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures
- Review and monitor the administrative and selling expense department budgets and perform trend analysis to be presented to senior management
- Prepare the backlog and order intake and highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
- Support the annual budgeting exercise for the Commercial Business
- Support the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modeling tools
- Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
- Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
- Support the Senior Management Team and Regional heads with in-depth analysis
- Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance or Accounting, CPA designation required
- 3+ years of experience in Financial Reporting or a similar role within a large organization
- Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on support capacity
- Strong business partnering skills required.
- Experience in multi-national organization preferred
- Highest standards of accuracy, precision and rigor; highly organized.
- Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
- Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual, English and French
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
