Based in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, NTCE (Nissan Technical Centre, Europe) is our UK Research and Development hub. We are home to the functions that help us lead the way in vehicle design and development of the vehicles manufactured in our European plants. With more than 900 people based here from over 25 different countries, it’s a hive of ideas, imagination, and vision, based in open-plan spacious offices designed to encourage cross-functional collaboration. The teams at the Cranfield Nissan Technical Centre work to develop engineering and design requirements for new car models across the world. Here you’ll find departments such as Research & Development, Product Economic Control, Purchasing, Legal, HR, Finance and Total Customer Satisfaction, all enjoying modern on-site facilities like our gym, sports, and social club. 

Mission and Main Objectives:

The finance Section Manager provides oversight for financial operations at NTCE Cranfield & consolidation of our other European R&D sites.

Outline and Responsibilities:

  • Management and coordination of local & offshore team
  • Management of the month end closing process and subsequent reporting & analysis
  • Accountability for the UK & Branches R&D P&L accuracy
  • Ownership of R&D balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Finance Lead on Business planning and forecasting rounds
  • Key contact for external audit concerning R&D Scope
  • Support processes and validation for Governmental reporting (R&D Expenditure Credits and Grants)
  • Revenue Management - Project Estimations, Global & Regional HQ Contracts & Billing process
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Adhoc Project support

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Commitment and flexibility to work overtime to meet deadlines during month end close and forecasting periods
  • Highly organised and proactive – focussed on solutions
  • Ability to present data in a clear and structured manner 
  • Confident communicator and excellent interpersonal skills – comfortable in dealing with colleagues across various functions and levels of seniority
  • People Management Skills desired
  • Positive and flexible attitude in time pressured environments
  • SAP proficiency would be advantageous
  • Strong spreadsheet (Excel) and PowerPoint skill
