Key Performance Areas:
Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Ensure accurate monthly financial reporting for the Potato Production operations.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and month-end/year-end financial activities.
  • Analyze expenditure against budgets, providing detailed variance explanations.
  • Provide weekly and monthly financial reports to management, highlighting key insights.
  • Ensure financial controls, compliance with corporate policies, and adherence to internal audit processes.


Cost Control & Process Optimization:

  • Analyze and improve internal financial systems and processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage product costings, BOMs, and material changes.
  • Develop and implement internal control improvements for enhanced financial systems.
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives to reduce Total Production Costs (TPC).


Strategic Decision Support:

  • Offer financial insights to support plant operations and strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process and monthly forecasting.
  • Provide input on operational processes, raw grade usage, and costing models to drive plant efficiency.


Budget Management:

  • Support operational teams in preparing and presenting the annual budget.
  • Analyze salary, labor costs, and overhead recovery rates for accurate budget forecasts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with business objectives.


Asset & Liability Safeguarding:

  • Ensure internal controls are in place to safeguard assets and manage operational risk.
  • Oversee stocktakes (e.g., oil, coal, raw goods) and ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
  • Prepare financial costings for capital projects and monitor post-capitalization savings.


People Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals to optimize performance.
  • Manage resource allocation, training, and development initiatives.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and support staff development through individualized plans.


Job Holder Requirements:
Education:

  • B.Com Degree in Accounting / Cost Management Accounting OR Similar.
  • CIMA advantageous


Experience:

  • 5 - 7 years' experience in management accounting, costing, BOM Cost and BOM explosions, new material master setups, SAP SAC material management within FMCG and Manufacturing environment
  • Budgeting, forecasting & reporting
  • Cost Management (including managing PPV)
  • People Management
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Inventory management
  • Strong understanding of internal controls
  • Good understanding of standard costing and interpretation of variances
