Finance Director, Sales Finance at a Glance....
The Sales Finance Director is responsible for translating performance into actions that will enable delivery of financial commitments within his or her specific Sales Area. The Sales Finance Director serves as the voice of finance in the decision-making process as it relates to Customer forecasting, dynamic reporting, commercialization initiatives, promotional planning & optimization, and development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
What's on the menu?

  • Serves as the finance leader (CFO) to the Area Vice President (AVP) of Sales.
  • Interfaces with Sales area leadership to articulate business results, opportunities, and recommended actions to drive gap closure and incremental sales.
  • Oversees development and implementation of the annual operating plan, financial rituals, routines, and reporting.
  • Oversees the development and delivery of insights related to Commercial Planning & Finance, Business Budgeting, Sell-out (consumption / market share) performance, Sales Forecasting, Revenue & Trade Management, Invoice to Cash, and Deduction Management.
  • Leads the profitability workstreams & execution within their Sales Area. This workstream includes optimization of retailer trade & allowances (e.g. promotions), cost-to-serve, margin pool, SKU assortment, and profitable mix.
  • Owns relationship with our Invoice to Cash (I2C) and Trade COE teams within the Global Business Services (GBS) team, including partnering on improvement initiatives for all GBS-owned processes.
  • Owns relationship with our Digital Pods on leveraging new tools for forecasting, promotional optimization, deduction management and working capital initiatives (customer inventory & receivables).
  • Oversees the translation of financial data into solutions that can be actioned by Sales leaders.
  • Coaches and develops direct reports to be trusted financial business partners.
  • Collaborates with finance peers across the US Zone to identify best practices and opportunities to replicate within US Sales.

  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • Strong understanding of the Sales function, process and execution
  • 10+ years of related experience in Finance/Accounting
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to deliver executive-level presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience leading a team and effectively work through others while also having the ability to challenge & influence cross-functional team members
  • Strong technical and systems orientation
  • Motivated self-starter who can effectively work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Team player who manages collaboratively with the ability to influence management, in some cases without authority
