Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic Finance Business Partner to join our team, focusing on the commercial, research and development (R&D), and operations functions of our business unit across the full geography of our Business Unit, with particular focus on the US. This role will serve as a strategic partner to drive financial performance, support decision-making, and provide insights into financial trends and operational efficiencies.

HBK has a work from anywhere policy, and for this role you are ideally based in Portugal, for optimal geographic proximity to the finance team and time proximity to the supported businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Collaborate with commercial, R&D, and operations teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track business performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) across departments, providing insights and recommendations for improvements. You will primarily focus on the full P&L performance of the supported Business Lines (global scope), and secondarily on the working capital performance of the US-based plants.
  • Cost Management: Identify and analyze cost-saving opportunities within the supported functions, ensuring that resources are deployed efficiently to maximize profitability.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Act as a liaison between finance and operational teams, fostering a collaborative environment by communicating financial insights effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Business Case Development: Support the evaluation of new initiatives, products, and operational changes by developing business cases, including financial modelling and return on investment analysis.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports and dashboards to senior management, relying on the existing BI tools, highlighting trends, variances, and actionable insights.
  • Risk Management: Assess potential financial risks related to commercial and operational activities, recommending mitigation strategies to management.
  • Compliance: Work together with the Corporate Finance team to ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies, contributing to corporate governance and integrity in financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, CIMA) valued.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in financial analysis, business partnering, or a similar role, preferably in a commercial and operational finance environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse complex data and present actionable, data-driven, insights.
  • Thrives in context of change, which is to be expected from internal projects, integration of new businesses and the innovative nature of the industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a context of fast-paced change.
