Job Summary:

As the Finance and Operational Optimization Lead for multiple verticals within North America Specialty, this role is responsible for partnering with the Head of Finance and Operational Optimization and Managing Directors of those verticals to ensure transformation occurs in a financially responsible and sustainable way.  Using financial measures and execution plans, this role supports strategic planning, sequencing, and execution for the verticals assigned.

Responsibilities:

Vision and Strategy:  Support the Head of Finance and Operational Optimization and Managing Directors in setting the vision and strategic direction for the vertical operations, defining clear goals and objectives and ensuring alignment throughout the organization.

Trusted Peer-Leader: Engage and collaborate with a diverse group of partners, balancing entrepreneurial motivation with disciplined execution to foster a cohesive and high-performing team culture.

Financial Strategy and Decision Support:

  • Collaborate with the sales leadership to provide financial insights and support for strategic decision-making, pricing strategies, and sales planning.

  • Collaborate with the Managing Directors to provide financial insights and support for strategic decision-making through operational efficiency.

  • Assess financial feasibility and ROI of new initiatives, investments, and business opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business scenarios and drive profitability.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Develop and execute financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with the company's strategic objectives.

  • Conduct financial analysis, including revenue and expense analysis, to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.

  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on data-driven analysis.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Develop the financial forecasts and understand revenue pipelines and expenses across the Region.

  • Support the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Work closely with the accounting functions (dotted line) as the accounting function directly report into overall accounting structure.

Data-Driven & Technology Enabled: Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and embrace technology solutions to enhance operational processes and efficiency throughout the organization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration across Wholesale and Regional verticals, promoting a culture of teamwork and accountability to achieve organizational objectives.

Embrace Key Performance Indicators: Embrace quarterly earnings, significant profit and loss (P&L) responsibility, and prioritize technology and data key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and achieve financial targets.

Operational Excellence: Partner with assigned Managing Directors to optimize day-to-day operational activities, ensuring efficient processes, resource allocation, and adherence to established policies and procedures.

Home Office Functions: Provide leadership and support to home office functions, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with organizational goals.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of success in leadership role within the financial services industry, with experience influencing sales and growth strategies in a revenue-driven environment.

  • Client Service Excellence: Demonstrated ability to support exceptional client service and operations teams focused on delivering high-quality service and maximizing client satisfaction.

  • Strategic Vision: Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective business strategies to achieve long-term goals.

  • Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial management, including revenue and expense management, profit and loss (P&L) responsibility, and financial performance analysis.

  • Technology and Data Focus: Strong understanding of technology solutions and data analytics, with the ability to leverage technology and data-driven insights to drive operational efficiency and business growth.

  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards within the financial services industry.

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to balance innovation, creativity, and risk-taking with a disciplined and results-oriented approach.

  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant professional certifications are preferred.
