The Vocational Finance Development Program (VFDP) at Oshkosh Vocational is designed to attract, develop, and retain high-potential finance professionals by providing structured training, mentorship, hands-on experience, and exposure to various financial disciplines within the organization. This rotational program aims to build a strong pipeline of skilled finance leaders who contribute to the financial health and strategic goals of the company.
VFDP participants will rotate through multiple finance and accounting functions, gaining experience in key areas such as financial planning & analysis (FP&A), cost accounting and general accounting. The program provides a unique opportunity to develop a well-rounded financial skill set while working with experienced mentors and senior leadership.
Program Structure
- Program spans 24 months with three rotations of eight months each.
- Program requires participants to be on-site at the applicable business unit. Full remote is not available, but work flexibility is offered.
- Each rotation will be at a different business within the Oshkosh Vocational segment as per the chart below:

YOUR IMPACT:
Participants in the VFDP will complete structured rotations across multiple financial disciplines, including but not limited to:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) – Budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
- Skills developed: Financial modeling, data analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial presentation, strategic thinking, and decision support, and use of finance tools (Power BI, Excel, and Data Warehousing).
General Accounting – Financial reporting, compliance, journal entries, reconciliations, month-end & year-end closing, regulatory and audit support.
- Skills developed: Proficiency in ERP systems, GAAP compliance, financial statement analysis, and internal controls.
Cost Accounting – Cost analysis, variance reporting, product costing, inventory valuation and control, overhead allocation, budgeting and forecasting, and profitability analysis.
- Skills developed: Standard vs actual cost analysis, variance analysis (material, labor, overhead, absorption), financial modeling for cost control, use of accounting tools (ERP, Power BI, Excel, and Data Warehousing).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields.
- 0-3 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Willingness to temporarily relocate to various program locations as required by the rotational assignments.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and financial analysis tools.
- Understanding of financial statements, corporate finance principles, and accounting standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn different financial disciplines through rotational assignments.

Pay Range:
$50,400.00 - $77,200.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
