What You’ll Do
This is a hands-on role where you will be immersed in historic documents and artifacts as well as stories of the past. You will split your time between staffing the museum and managing archival activities such as cataloging and organizing new materials and updating finding aids. You will also have the opportunity to conduct research independently, provide insights to museum staff and help develop content for upcoming exhibits, displays, the museum website and other communications. While your main interactions will be with museum staff, there will be opportunities to meet other bank employees and leaders as well as conduct tours for bank employees and the general public as needed.
Job Duties

Work on-site in the archive room in downtown Cincinnati and may occasionally be asked to visit the Cincinnati Public Library and the Cincinnati Museum Center to conduct research.

Assist with archiving, cataloging and other preservation activities.

Support content development for museum exhibits and communications.

Conduct research using artifacts the Fifth Third archives and other research resources (i.e., Cincinnati Public Library, Cincinnati Historical Society, Newspapers.com, databases etc.)

Must be able to tolerate variable amounts of sedentary activity, standing and/or walking.

A computer will be provided on-site.
Required Knowledge and Skills

Must be a rising Sophomore or rising Junior currently enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in History

Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future

Strong research and organizational skills.

Interest in archival methods and practices.

Detail-oriented.

Solid writing skills and/or the ability to develop detailed summaries.

Ability to conduct research independently.

Skilled at using Microsoft Office products and research databases.

Conscientious regarding any confidentiality guidelines of the material that will be handled.

An interest in Cincinnati history is a plus
