Job Description Summary
The Field Warranty Manager primary responsibility, is to make sure that all GM dealers are following the Warranty Policies and Procedures as described by GM. These persons should be comfortable with traveling or relocation if needed. They will need to be self-motivated individuals, with strong Excel spreadsheet creations and manipulation skills. They also need to have strong analytical skills to identify areas of deviation from normal statistics. They must be comfortable in communicating disciplinary actions to GM dealers; and be confident while speaking in large groups or with dealer's Principals.
The Field Warranty Manager should have the ability to clarify doubts and/or end controversies related to warranty and process deviations.
Additional Description
Required

  • Bachelor's degree, preferrable in Engineering or Administration
  • User of MS Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate
  • Self-Motivated / Self-Starter
  • Statistical knowledge and data interpretation
  • Analytical ability to deal with complex problems
  • Good oral and written communication skills and time management
  • Ability to express ideas, problems, solutions, recommendations in English
  • Very good interpersonal skills to work with others, both within and outside the organization
  • Comfortable speaking to groups, dealer operators and fixed operations management team


Preferred

  • Filed experience with dealers
  • Knowledge and experience in vehicle components and repairs
  • Thorough knowledge of GM Service Policies and Procedures
  • Ability to create and follow up action plans
  • Project management ability

Main Activities

  • Assist in the implementation of new/revised processes as may be required at dealerships.
  • Prepare detailed review reports identifying potential audit risk, inappropriate and/or inaccurate claims, areas of process inefficiencies, training require
  • Refer to current Warranty Policies & Procedures as appropriate.
  • Prepare specific action plans as directed
  • Counsel dealerships on completion of Service Training Standards
  • Counsel dealerships on 100% completion of Field Actions prior to vehicle delivery
  • Monitor, track and report on required dealer warranty administration activities and conduct claim reviews at assigned dealerships
  • Provide Zone team with deep-dive claim review results as requested/needed
  • Support, coach and counsel all field team members in the areas of warranty administration
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices
  • Travel as necessary, as directed by the GM Manager, including overnights to perform in-dealership claim review activities
  • Process debits to the dealers, if appropriate, per defined GM process
  • Complete special assignments as required
