About the Role
The best part of building the world’s first Aero-Electric RV is that it is at its best when it is out on the road — meeting people, sharing stories, showing and helping people imagine themselves making memories in their Lightship.
We are looking for someone to join our team that can help us get the word out, show and share how Lightship is taking RV’ing into the electric era. As the Field Marketing Manager, you’ll get a chance to meet and connect with potential customers and Lightship owners across a myriad of expos, Lightship-created events, at campsites, charging stations, and along the way.
Working with our Events leader, and as part of/with support of the marketing and commercial team, you’ll help drive, execute and deliver the experiences that bring the product and brand to life. A key first introduction, or a connection to our various audiences, partners, etc.
Lightship launched the AE.1 in December 2024, going into production Summer 2025. You’ll be joining at a very early stage, so everything you do matters and can help define how we work to best connect, tell and sell the product and the vision for the brand. While it is fun and glamorous — traveling, it comes with some heavy lifting - planning, reporting, organizing, convincing, and sometimes pushing around or moving some medium-heavy boxes, or signs, etc. But, as much travel as is part of this role, it’s not all travel all the time – there are also stretches in the office with the team.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the team and/or lead the planning and logistics of connecting with our audience in the field. Expos, events, curated partner moments, etc.
- Communicate and connect to sell and share the product and brand in way that leads to building relationships - firstly with an eye to ownership (contacts into sales)
- Manage and optimize travel and moments to lead and/or support the broader marketing, sales, or customer objectives - working with the marketing, service, brand and commercial teams
- Be a sponge with the interactions in the world, systematically reporting to help all aspects of Lightship to improve with the knowledge gained across product, brand, service, etc.
- Provide support to the brand with capturing content, stories and moments along the way that help us deepen our connection to cultures we’re a part of

Minimum Qualifications
- 2-3 years of event, field marketing, or mobile marketing experience
- Experience in the automotive, EV, RV, or outdoor industries, with a passion for and/or belief in the power of travel and sustainability
- Energy and history in customer facing roles, empathetic to customer wants and needs, and curiosity to discover
- Knowledge around CRM or customer contact systems
- A++ driving record with experience towing a trailer or RV
- Able to travel approximately 50% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Content creator or social media experience - as we expect a lot of magic will happen when we’re on the road meeting people
- Startup experience, and/or excited to join a startup at a very exciting and integral time for the company
- Success in a fast-paced environment and comfort in navigating feedback from various stakeholders
- Passion and excitement for sustainability, climate tech and Lightship’s mission to bring electrification and RV travel experiences to more demographics

What We Do
Lightship is an early-stage hardware startup launched in 2020 by Tesla alumni that is bringing the $26B recreational vehicle industry into the electric age. Based in San Francisco and Broomfield, Colorado, Lightship is designing and producing an aerodynamic, battery-powered trailer that liberates travelers from the noise, emissions, and range anxiety of gas RVing
