Field Engineer

The Field Engineer will be responsible for the smooth operation of Wood Mackenzie’s network of wireless sensors, ensuring that reliable data is collected, calibrated and delivered on time to supply essential energy information to this dynamic market. This position reports to the.

Tasks you will perform:

  • Frequent travel in all Europe and Asia
  • Alone on-site maintenance to wireless sensors
  • Work with team members to install sensors at new locations.
  • Calibrate all the data collected from the devices.
  • Identify new suitable sites for monitoring devices, arrange and negotiate permission with landowners
  • Research to identify and gather data and information sets on energy infrastructure.

  • You enjoy a mix of traveling and working from home
  • Enjoy hands on, technical work
  • you are comfortable at contacting private landowners and negotiating easements/lease agreements

 Requirements include:

  • Education: A minimum of a technical diploma. We use proprietary monitoring devices and software tools, so there will be different internal training
  • Personality to work independently and alone. Must be comfortable approaching and speaking to people you have never met.
  • Ability to follow procedures carefully, with attention to detail. Ability to use basic hand operated tools and drills preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving records
  • Travel expected around 60% of the time in Europe and Asia
  • Must be fluent in Spanish & English
