The Field Competence Development Manager, based out of our Dubai, UAE, office, will lead frontline field and safety competence development through data, business KPIs, and insights. The manager partners with FL (frontline), a global network of L&Ds, field trainers, and delivery and maintenance operations business stakeholders to ensure training impact and relevance. The manager is also responsible for FL Training Center operations.

What will you be doing?

Ownership

  • Leads FL field competence development through a driven approach. ​

  • Partner with business stakeholders (Operations, Safety, BL key projects, etc.) to provide insights and recommendations for continuous field development. ​

  • Drives proactive training planning and deployments to take place in the FLs.​

  • Ensures process discipline, data accuracy, and P&C operating model compliance for the FL level for field competence development​

  • Lead delivery and maintenance operations, L&D steering, and prioritization in FL.​

  • Manages FL Training Centers towards the agreed vision, strategy, and optimal utilization. ​

Training Centers

  • Responsible for all Training Centers in the FL/Regions. Builds Training Centers towards the agreed vision, strategy, and optimal utilization. Takes needed actions based on the data.​

  • Leads FL technical training planning to determine the Training Center's offerings and services.​

Contribute

  • Contributes to Training Center audits and field maturity model assessments in FL/Region, including corrective actions follow-up.​

  • Partners with a global learning offering team to provide feedback and input on field competence development, learning solutions, and development initiatives.​

  • Contributes to FL L&D governance meetings and partners with the Technical help desk, Technical field support, and field trainers​

  • Partners with stakeholders on the FL execution of field learning solutions.​

Network management

  • Ensures the field trainer pool in FL/Region is competent in delivering the planned training.​

Essential Functions:

  • Align and manage the delivery of learning programs tailored to meet the field's business goals and aims, ensuring they are engaging, interactive, and aligned with industry best practices. Validate global learning solutions against FL business and learning needs.

  • Manage the field trainer network to ensure effective deployment of learning solutions. Partner with key business partners to ensure the Training Center offers services and business relevance across FL.

  • Partner with L&D Business Partners in other regions within FL to manage the L&D field training plan and deployment. Communicate, deploy, and manage new L&D solutions as decided by Area and Global.

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of the effectiveness of learning programs, analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data to identify areas for improvement, and provide insightful recommendations to enhance and optimize the learning experience.

  • Conduct role assessments & data audits to identify risks and strategies to improve competence & data quality.

  • Partner with P&C Services to streamline processes.

  • Ensure the trainer network processes discipline to ensure data quality.

Key competencies and experience:

  • Postgraduate qualification in engineering, safety, technical, or behavioral science, or a Minimum of 5 years of experience within Learning & Development, in a field/technical context​

  • Technical training expertise, Training Center management, and apprenticeship program experience are seen as assets​

  • Excellent English and local language skills​

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills​

  • Project Management skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of mentoring and coaching ​

  • Learning Management System experience and eLearning/virtual training knowledge and development experience preferred.
