Acuity International is currently seeking a FEMA Program Manager – Disaster Recovery with experience in disaster recovery services and programs to include FEMA Public Assistance Program, HUD’s Community Development Block Grant Program, as well as other state and federal programs associated with disaster response and recovery. In this role, the selected candidate will market the Acuity International disaster recovery services and program management to other businesses in the disaster recovery space and federal government clients and provide routine follow-up to ensure that projects are meeting client expectations.
This position is expected to be forward deployed to the site of federally declared disasters but may also require work from your Residence of Record (RoR), hotel room, FEMA’s Regional Offices, FEMA Headquarters, or other facilities, dependent on the needs and requirements of FEMA, the Prime, and Acuity International.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage aspects of business development and client relations including performing market assessments, client identification, and matching client needs with Acuity International’s capabilities.
- Foster new and existing Acuity client relationships with other businesses within the industry with an emphasis on expanding our disaster recovery client base nationally.
- Develop business opportunities that meet Acuity’s goals and objectives at a national or regional level.
- Meet assigned goals and work closely with Acuity operational staff to deliver high-quality, cost-effective work products for our clients.
- Help codify services associated with an emergency or disaster.
- Helps in preparing proposals, project cost estimates, and client interview documents.
- Provides customer service to assigned applicants throughout the PA grant management process.
- Works with the PA Site Inspector Task Force Leader (SI-TFL) and PA Program Delivery Task Force Leader (PDMG-TFL) to coordinate effective, efficient, and accurate delivery of grant funding.
- Coordinates with numerous stakeholders, such as recipients and subrecipients, to complete PA grants
- Uses Grant Manager software to enter, update, and retrieve grant information.
- Follows applicable local, state, tribal, territorial, and Federal regulations on grant eligibility.
- Leads meetings with applicants and sub-applicants, including but not limited to: Exploratory Call (EC) Recovery Scoping Meeting (RSM), Recovery Transition Meeting (RTM), and Status Calls.
- Tracks and follows-up with the Applicant on FEMA's Requests for Information and documentation submission.
- Coordinates transmittal of documents and information between the Applicant and FEMA's Consolidated Resource Center.
- Successfully assist target clients in the planning and timely implementation of their projects.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts.
- Support other Acuity staff assigned to projects.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience with federal disaster recovery grant programs including FEMA’s Public Assistance (FEMA PA), FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (FEMA HMGP), HUD’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-DR), U.S. Treasury, and other appropriate disaster recovery programs.
- The candidate is required to pass a FEMA security training (annual), Grants Manager training, and PDMG training class (E/L 0869) in order to qualify for deployment. These classes are delivered on-demand and on-line at this time but may be delivered in-person in the future.
- The successful candidate should have experience with public speaking to include delivering presentations and facilitating meetings as well as working with government officials and businesses within the disaster recovery industry.
- Candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, and good mathematical skills.
- Must know or be able to learn Grants Manager, other FEMA Systems, and GoogleEarth Pro.
- Candidate must be willing and able to deploy to sites of the disasters. Travel expenses are paid.
- This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain/maintain/transfer a DHS/FEMA Clearance and badge.
