As an Export Control Compliance Analyst, you will:
•You will be involved in daily import and export operations to achieve compliance and productivity.
•You will provide the operation teams with guidance on HSN Codes associated with duty rates and fees; assist in the license application process, ICEGATE registration; and obtain the necessary documents for imports/ exports (BIS, EPR; SVB, Quota, Prohibitions, FTA etc.).
•You will identify opportunities to improve import duty competitiveness, minimize compliance risks, and reduce costs by optimizing trade benefits like duty drawback, Free Zone, CKD, Bonded Facilities, EOU, DTA procedures etc.
•You will monitor the regulatory environment of Indian and APAC-regional export and import, stay up to date with any trade tensions, tariff situation, and regulatory changes, ensure policy & process updates, and notify the relevant parties of the potential impact on Fluence businesses.
•You will serve as subject matter expert to support internal / external customers on Indian trade topics including tariff classification; duty impacts or optimization; export/ import compliance requirements, and FTA Rules of Origin etc.
•You will develop and implement Internal Control Compliance programs to manage the import and export of Fluence products and drive trade management process improvement initiatives.
•You will drive and participate in Indian Customs Systems, Trade Portals, or any Automated solutions, and maintain Fluence KYC documents up-to-date.
•You will develop and conduct compliance training programs.
•You will work closely with customs brokers; Logistics; Purchasing; Finance; Suppliers etc. to ensure compliance with global trade.
•You will audit and establish scorecard metrics for customs clearance documentation, broker’s Bill of Entry accuracy, as well as drive improvement plans.
•You will ensure proper processes of record keeping, auditing, export declarations, reporting, and responding to export/ import authorities.
•You will collaborate with product development and engineering teams to identify potential reasons for control and support determination and documentation of export jurisdiction and customs classification for all goods, software, and technology.
What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
•You have a bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax, Law, or related field AND 3+ years of related experience in Customs related activities.
•You have experience with process development and improvement, tariff classification, valuation, duty drawback, duty minimizing programs, and free trade agreements etc.
•You have subject matter expertise in customs laws, trade regulations, and compliance requirements specific to India.
•You have knowledge of ICEGATE portal and any other customs systems, as well as Incoterms.
•You have strong communication, presentation and training skills.
•You are self-motivated, demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
•You have ability to operate effectively in hybrid working environments, demonstrate ability to work independently without direct supervision.
•You have experience with customs laws and regulations in the APAC region which will be a value added.
