Chemours is seeking a Production Technician - Shift Operator to join our Operations team! This position will report directly to the Production Shift First Line Supervisor at our Ingleside, TX location.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Monitor and operate equipment and facilities ensuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures. Perform minor maintenance functions within their operating area and within their level of expertise. Maintain safety standards at all times and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary. (Combined Field and Control Room Operator)

Starts-up, operates, maintains and shuts-down equipment per operating procedures
-
Prepares equipment for maintenance work

Serves as a member on the Emergency Response Team and follows and reinforces all safety, health and environmental rules, policies and regulations

Involved in training new operators and ensures that the new operators follow operating procedures
-
Pulls samples and performs field analysis and/or delivers them to the central laboratory
-
Monitors process variables via DCS, makes adjustments to maintain operation within “Standard Operating Conditions” (SOCs), troubleshoots process upsets and responds appropriately to return process to within SOCs.

Uses a variety of hand tools (e.g. pipe/valve/torque wrenches, band saw) meters (e.g. O2, flammability, gas tech) and rescue and HAZMAT equipment during the course of work

Records daily activity in shift logs and provides proper relief to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the plant

Patrols assigned area in order to visually inspect, monitor equipment and process conditions to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and environmental regulations

Provides routine maintenance work and reviews and updates procedures and drawings per required guidelines
The following is required for this role:
-
Associate degree in Process Technology or Four years of experience in an Industrial Environment as a Chemical/Petrochemical Operator
-
Willingness and ability to work a rotating shift schedule with the ability to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in.

Passing completion of a drug screening and physical abilities test
-
Willing and able to work in a high-hazard process.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and able to learn new computer systems.
The following is preferred for this role:
-
Five years of chemical operator experience
-
Experience in reading and interpreting Schematics, Procedures, Manufacturers’ Literature, Safety Requirements, General Instructions, and ability to learn and detect process deviations.

Experience performing a job safety analysis and equipment lockout safety procedures.

Experience with SAP or equivalent manufacturing operations software.
