We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Expeditor to join our Commercial and Procurement Team on the Alkimos Desalinisation project. This role is pivotal in ensuring the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services from suppliers to support construction schedules and project milestones.
Working closely with buyers, suppliers, and construction teams, you’ll monitor and track supplier performance, resolve delivery issues, and ensure compliance with contractual delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and track all purchase orders and supplier commitments to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Coordinate closely with procurement, logistics, and construction teams to align deliveries with project needs.
- Engage directly with suppliers to expedite orders, resolve delays, and manage changes to delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date expediting reports, dashboards, and risk registers.
- Identify and escalate any supply chain risks or issues that could impact project delivery.
- Support vendor performance management and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with project procurement procedures, quality standards, and documentation requirements.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Proven experience in an expediting, procurement coordination, or supply chain role within construction, infrastructure, engineering, or manufacturing projects.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Proficient in using procurement or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of contracts, incoterms, and logistics processes.
- A collaborative team player with a solutions-focused mindset and a strong attention to detail.
