Job Summary
This position supports the Government Relations Washington DC office and has responsibility for the analysis, development, and communication of HCSC policy on legislative and regulatory matters impacting government programs (with particular emphasis on Medicare) and to provide for influencing federal officials and legislators including administration officials, legislative and agency staff, governmental committees, and other stakeholders in a positive manner towards HCSC interests and positions. This position works in strong collaboration with our senior Government Program Division (GPD) leaders to understand HCSC’s interests and positions on Medicare policies; helping to develop policy and legislative strategies based on this information. This position also may support compliance efforts and activities.
This if a hybrid role which requires 3 days of in-office hours per week at the respective company location.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Public or International Relations, Political Science, or Business. Master’s Degree preferred.
* 7 or more years of experience in federal public policy development, government relations, and management.
* Knowledge of legislative process and understanding of health policy issues and federal health programs as they relate to Medicare.
* Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills.
* Skill in negotiating and influencing others.
* Ability to achieve results under demanding time constraints and changing priorities.
* Demonstrated ability to articulate corporate position and the business implications for numerous and wide-ranging audiences.
* Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communications skills.

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.
