Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

Our Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) is key to making the aircraft fly. With your specific experience in EWIS 3D Routing Design, you contribute directly to the constant improvement of this important system. As an integral part of our EWIS development team, you support in driving the technical development of this system.

  • You work in our EWIS Team to create the EWIS Design for our Volocity aircraft
  • You create standard or commercial part models for the VoloCity (Connectors, backshells, etc.)
  • You create 3D harness routing models and synchronize with schematics
  • You create and populate 2D Formboards Drawings
  • You create harness installation drawings
  • You design power, networking, sensors & different systems routing
  • You perform integration of EWIS models in the digital mock-up and review the digital mock-up to verify proper implementation of the rules
  • You provide requested documentation to comply with certification and aircraft requirements
  • You support other systems to define the equipment interfaces and harmonize the interfaces across the systems
  • You support the integration team to define space allocation models
  • You support our prototyping team to integrate the harness into the aircraft and create documentation for non-conformities

Qualifications

Required skills

  • You have a Bachelor/Master/PhD or equivalent degree in aviation, electrical, mechanical engineering or similar.
  • You have at least 5+ years professional experience in 3D EWIS Design in the aerospace industry
  • You have experience in 3D electrical routing, mechanical integration and drafting (preferably with Siemens NX, but also with CATIA V5)
  • You are familiar with all aspects of electrical wiring design, including mechanical, electrical and thermal aspects
  • You have good knowledge of aviation EWIS standards and specification such as AC43.13, AS50881
  • You have very good knowledge of harness installation rules such as segregation, bend radius, maintainability, accessibility & manufacturing
  • You have good knowledge of PLM systems (preferably Siemens Teamcenter)
  •  You have structured way of working, are a dynamic self-starter, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred skills

  • You have 5+ professional experience in 3D EWIS Design in the aerospace industry
  • You have knowledge on electrical schematic & quality processes
  • You have a good understanding of EWIS Flight Test Instrumentation
  • You have experience in system and requirements engineering
