POSITION OVERVIEW:

Fenway Park Events (FPE) is responsible for the sales, marketing, and operations for all private and signature events, at Fenway Park. The Event Sales Manager sells and markets Fenway Park as a venue for private events and is responsible for account management, business development, and sales prospecting to generate business and develop relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for selling corporate events (select markets).
  • Handle high volume of inbound inquiries via Fenway Park Events website, inquiry line and events email.
  • Meet and/or exceed monthly prospecting activities including outside sales appointments.
  • Engage with customers and prospective clients at games, events, both on and off property.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with internal and external partners and leverage these relationships to deliver innovative and memorable events.
  • Host site tours of the property for prospective clients.
  • Maintain well-organized event records/booking reports/forecasts.
  • Prepare proposals and estimates for clients on a regular basis and in a timely manner.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts for all private events.
  • Liaise with Event Managers and Catering Managers to ensure that all booking information is clearly communicated and transitioned professionally and efficiently.
  • Attend industry networking events regularly to represent Fenway Park Events/Boston Red Sox, build relationships and drive business.

CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience selling corporate events is required.
  • Prior work experience within fast-paced, unstructured and frequently changing environments.
  • Industry experience within the hospitality or event industry is highly desired.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as well as occasional business travel required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an outgoing and sales-focused personality.
  • Confident and assertive with an ability to effectively influence others.
  • Motivated and driven to secure business ensuring organization and client needs are met.
  • Works well under pressure, able to problem solve and be solution oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong level of commitment to providing a high level of customer service.
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
