The primary responsibility of the Corporate Trade Compliance Assistant is to support the Corporate Trade Compliance Team in researching, assigning, and entering Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the EU (HTS-EU) classifications and Export Control Numbers (ECNs) for Jabil EMEA products and components. This role involves working closely with various tools like SAP, Excel, and databases to ensure compliance with EU import/export regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research technical characteristics of parts and products using SAP, customer or vendor websites, general internet searches, or other database tools.
- Under the supervision of the Trade Support Team Supervisor, assign and enter EU HTS, ECNs, and other relevant import/export information into SAP or MS Excel database.
- Create and manage product research files, including data entry, retrieval, and development.
- Sort, partition, extract, or add data items using SAP or MS Excel tools, including advanced functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Conduct audits and reviews of data entries for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform general administrative tasks to support the Global Trade Compliance Team, including file creation, entry reviews, and organizational tasks.
- Assist with product research file creation, data entry, and retrieval, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
- Ensure compliance with EU regulations for import/export, specifically in the classification of products and components.
- Assist in preparing reports and maintaining compliance documentation as required.
- May be assigned other duties as needed to support the Global Trade Compliance Team.
Requirements:
- Education in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation, including data sheets and material specifications.
- Experience in import/export processes is preferred, with a focus on imports acceptable.
- Knowledge of or experience with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Numbers (ECNs) is beneficial.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Ability to manage and manipulate data in Excel for reporting and analysis.
- Experience with Power BI is a plus, though not required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
