Bloom Energy is seeking to add an experienced Director, Commercial Operations to the Sales team in Europe. This individual will oversee the commercial offering process, and associated pricing policies and strategies, for Bloom’s European business. As part of the Commercial team, this role will be a key contributor to driving scale for Bloom’s business. Responsibilities will include tactical coordination of the proposal process with the Account Executive, Application Engineering and Structured Finance teams, as well as managing periodic updates to pricing strategy with Corporate Finance and cross-functional operational P&L owners. This leader will take the lead on negotiating contract terms for in region projects while shaping and presenting the final proposal to customers. This role requires excellent coordination and communication skills, and the ability to successfully manage internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience creating or delivering high-profile proposals in an enterprise setting, and a track record of process management and the ability to negotiate deals to closure.

Reporting to: Global Head of Sales for Commercial, Industrial and Utilities
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting the commercial operations process in Europe. The initial focus will be primarily on Germany, Italy and the UK, and this individual will work in a close partnership with the Regional Sales team from late stage customer proposal to signed contract
- Engage with the Account Executive and Sales Engineering teams in all later stage processes including internal approvals, pricing, contract negotiations, and deal closure
- Responsible for pricing approvals, salesforce configuration, and contract creation and negotiation to assist Sales team and execute deals more efficiently
- Ensure risk controls and internal compliance is adhered, including appropriate approvals
- Provide market analysis and insight to support regular reviews of pricing strategy and help set standard pricing policies
- Support Finance and Sales organizations with recurring and ad-hoc revenue and bookings forecasting
Requirements:
Experience: 12+ years of sales, sales engineering and/or commercial negotiation required, at least some of which must have been in the European region
Strong communication and collaboration skills required. English plus either Italian or German is a must
Education: BA/BS required; MBA preferred
Frequent travel could be required.
