The Role
As an ESG and Climate Risk Analyst, you will assess and integrate ESG and climate-related risks into the Group's decision-making processes. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing ESG-related data, and fostering internal and external stakeholder engagement. This role is crucial in driving sustainability and managing climate risks within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assess ESG risks and opportunities related to the bank’s portfolio;
- Analyze climate-related financial risks, including transition and physical risks;
- Develop methodologies for integrating ESG and climate risk considerations into credit decisions;
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks;
- Prepare comprehensive ESG and climate-related disclosures for internal and external stakeholders;
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting aligned with regulatory requirements;
- Collect, manage, and analyze ESG and climate data to support decision-making;
- Leverage analytical tools to generate insights and recommendations;
- Monitor industry trends and developments in sustainability and climate risk management;
- Work closely with internal teams, including risk, compliance, and finance, to embed ESG principles;
- Engage with external stakeholders, such as regulators and rating agencies, on ESG-related topics.
To be considered you should have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field;
- Proven experience in ESG, climate risk management, or sustainability reporting (minimum 2 years);
- Familiarity with banking regulations, including ICAAP/ILAAP, and sustainability reporting standards;
- Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks (e.g., GRI, TCFD);
- Experience with regulatory reporting systems and tools is a plus;
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex topics clearly.
