Salesforce’s Employee Success (ES) Product Management team is focused on advancing AI-driven data initiatives to transform and expand our data capabilities across all ES functions. A key priority in this effort is developing a strong data and AI foundation to support innovation, automation, and data-driven decision-making across the ES landscape.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with expertise in data engineering, AI, and machine learning, along with experience in API development and familiarity with Salesforce Data Cloud and Agentforce are a plus.

In this role, you will be responsible for building data pipelines, metrics, and analytics solutions, agents across all ES organizations. You will collaborate with business partners across ES functions to understand their requirements, translate them into technical solutions, integrate data from multiple sources, and develop automated data pipelines to generate actionable insights. Additionally, you will work closely with internal technology teams to streamline and automate data collection and standardization processes. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, ETL, SQL, and machine learning, with a proven track record of working with enterprise metrics to develop automated data pipelines. They should possess excellent operational skills to enhance efficiency and speed, along with expertise in building scalable and repeatable data engineering processes. Strong project management skills are essential. Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, exposure to APEX classes, and familiarity with Salesforce technologies are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines to support analytics, AI models, and business intelligence.
* Build and maintain APIs for seamless data exchange between systems, including Salesforce Data Cloud and Agentforce.
* Leverage AI and machine learning to enhance data processing, predictive analytics, and automation.
* Work with Salesforce technologies, including APEX code development, Salesforce Flow, and integrations with external data sources.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
* Optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval in cloud environments, ensuring performance and scalability.
* Provide technical guidance and best practices for Salesforce Data Cloud integration and utilization.
* Work with ES teams across the organization and build data metric requirements, build quick POC’s, document functional and technical requirements.
* Design & develop easy, repeatable and reusable automation data frameworks.
* Review and validate logical and physical design to ensure alignment with the defined solution architecture. 
* Collaborate with data scientists to support data needs and develop scalable architecture to deploy models.
* Work and collaborate with global teams across North America, EMEA and APAC.

Required Skills/Experience

* Experience and knowledge in a data engineering, data modeling, machine learning, automation and analytics. People Analytics experience preferable.
* Proficiency with SQL, Bash and Python scripting is a must.
* Proficiency using orchestration software like Apache Airflow
* Proficiency using GIT for code standardization and versioning.
* Proficiency in foundational data warehousing concepts and data modeling
* Ability to interface across various technologies through API’s
* Experience with AWS technologies like ECS, Aurora, Lambda, S3  preferred.
* Experience with Salesforce Data cloud  preferred.
* Experience using Snowflake and similar centralized data platforms
* Deep understanding of data engineering concepts, database designs, associated tools, system components, internal processes and architecture. 
* Experience working with Analytics/Data Science teams
* Team-first mentality. Excellent interpersonal skills in order to build strong relationships that will be critical for the success in this role.
* Self-starter, highly motivated, able to shift directions quickly when priorities change, think through problems to come up with innovative solutions and deliver against tight deadlines.
* Must be results oriented and able to move forward without complete information and with minimal supervision
* Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau is a plus.
* Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams preferred.
* Experience with Human Resources technology and work is a plus.
