Ferguson’s eProcurement team is seeking an innovative and strategic API Implementation Lead - Procure to Pay (P2P) to drive the design, implementation, and integration of eProcurement systems. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping our eProcurement strategies, leading initiatives to enhance Procure-to-Pay (P2P) solutions, and ensuring seamless integration with business objectives. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams—including customer groups, product squads, and technical teams—to optimize performance, expand eProcurement utilization, and improve operational efficiency. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent customer group(s) interests from an eProcurement lens within the organization. Be a liaison to those teams for all things ePro related.
- Possess a thorough understanding of the customer group(s), its strategic objectives and business model, its competitors, customer audiences and journeys, strategic partners, and value propositions.
- Assess new potential software partners from a risk and return on investment standpoint. Evaluate a prospected partner’s technical capabilities and business case. Ensure prospect meets Ferguson’s “business principles”.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures for Onboarding of New eProcurement Solution, meets with appropriate team members to review and communicate process.
- Participate as a key partner in eProcurement technical roadmap items while implementing and/or managing progress reliant on other internal teams.
- Create and present data driven business cases for future initiative prioritization and see approved initiatives through execution and ongoing ownership or handoffs.
- Creates, updates and manages API Business Requirements for new/enhanced eProcurement solutions.
- Works closely with product and technical teams on the deployment, testing and validation of requirements in the eProcurement solution.
- Provide guidance and education to field leadership to gain consensus and drive adoption of the digital platform and experience.
- Develop comprehensive overviews of the channels and technology landscapes internally and externally to ensure there’s a clear understanding of current state vs future direction; participate as a SME for future developments.
- Design palatable solutions, with associated implementation approaches and accompanying go-to-market strategies.
- Involved in maintaining and enhancing the digitally driven processes for the field in partnership with leadership and other functional support areas.
- Provide performance reporting and insights to team members and leadership. Use the data to challenge the status quo in a productive and collaborative way to evolve eProcurement priorities and practices as needed.
- Provide cross-functional awareness of status, resourcing needs, granular requirements, dates and critical issues for integrations.
- Establish quality control processes for implementations to ensure efficiency, scalability, and adoption of solutions.
- Creates training materials and support documentation for Branch associates in relation to new partnerships.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 5-7 years practical experience in managing Procure-To-Pay and/or API digital customer engagement.
- Qualifications either at educational level (Bachelor’s degree) or equivalent experience level.
- High level of technical knowledge of eProcurement P2P integration technologies (Hosted and PunchOut catalogs) and associated electronic integration protocols (cXML, XML, EDI, API) and the messages (Order, Confirmation, ASN, Invoice) and communication methods (AS2, HTTPS, VAN). Experience working with various eProcurement solutions (Ariba, Coupa, OpsTech, Yardi, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
- Demonstrable experience of strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Project management experience and methodologies employed for efficient delivery.
- Strong communication skills and confident communicator at all levels.
