ABOUT OUR ROLE
Our multi-faceted experiential design team is seeking thoughtful and innovative minds, skilled in the arts of visual communication, imaginative storytelling, and creative problem-solving to join our team as we leverage the power of design to bridge the gap between individual, brand, and the built environment to create inspiring experiences for our clients. With your exceptional technical skills, signage and wayfinding experience, and intrinsic knowledge of graphic design, you will join us in addressing our client’s largest challenges and transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.
- Lead conceptual and design development across multiple projects, provide art direction to less experienced staff, and develop documentation for a variety of design projects to include graphic programs, wayfinding and signage systems, donor recognition programs and interpretive exhibits.
- Work with select clients to interpret and translate their expressed needs and ideas into concepts in order to effectively communicate their mission and vision.
- Prepare design packages of proposed graphic systems from concept through implementation.
- Coordinate with other disciplines throughout CannonDesign.
- Take a leadership role in guiding project teams.
- Review and redline shop drawings and submittals throughout the construction administration phase.
- Take a lead role in project meetings.
- Work with vendors/fabricators and outside consultants.
- Maintain accurate files and records.
- Mentorship of less experienced team members.
- May perform other duties as required.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, or related design field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience required.
- Exceptional design portfolio and strong background in typography is essential as is strong communication skills and the ability to work well collaboratively.
- Strong knowledge of signage and wayfinding design and methodology and understanding of all aspects of experiential design required.
- Strong client leadership and technical leadership for production team: large, complex projects.
- Ability to perform work with a high degree of latitude.
- Must be a critical thinker, highly analytical, and possess business acumen.
- Proficient in project management.
- Attention to detail a must.
- Proficiency on Mac in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign required. Skills in Revit and SketchUp a plus.
