This job is responsible for customer operations and business development duties in a team environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, daily communication with customers, including issue resolution, and facilitation across teams to help efficiently coordinate daily and weekly operations.

In this job, you will:

  • Research and prospect daily for new customers.
  • Manage customers through quoting, creating, and tracking shipments and managing their transportation needs.
  • Understand and execute pricing methodology for all transportation modes.
  • Update and maintain relevant customer information in CRM.
  • Provide superior customer service through professional communication to carriers and customers; respond to and promptly handle customer concerns.
  • Professionally represent the company to prospects, customers, carriers, and customer partners on a daily basis.

Education

Bachelor's degree Preferred but not required.

Experience

Sales or Transportation Preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of the US markets and seasonality.
  • Understand terms and definitions of the transportation industry.

Additional information you need to know:

Physical Demands & Requirements

Sedentary work.  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Hearing.  Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.  Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.

The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Environmental Conditions

The work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside where there are limited extremes to heat and/or cold; moderate noise; a normal office environment.

Minimal travel may be required for trainings and meetings.

The expected base pay range for this role is:

$52,719.00 - $71,811.00

Actual pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including work location, job-related knowledge, skills and relevant experience for the job. Pay amount does not guarantee employment for any particular period of time.
